Music, a way of expressing without any expressions, just by using a set of sounds. Music is everywhere, from the Mixer in your kitchen to the Mixer in a studio, everywhere. Just imagine your daily life without sounds, just actions…. Boring right? Research says human brain is much more responsive to sound signals and frequencies than visual signals and frequencies. So we can see that daily life without sounds and music is of no use. And this is what motivated me to explore the world of sounds, Music.
Now, about me, I’m Rayan Bhattacharjee a professional musician who’s been with music for the past 10 years. I’m a keyboardist primarily, but I can play various other instruments. Being a musician or an independent artist is of a lot of struggle. I love making music, I make good music but to get that to the public is the biggest problem. I make music for myself, to enjoy the art, to enjoy and feel the blessing that god has given to me in music.
So let’s talk about, how my journey started back then…
After a huge fight with my family, I finally managed to start learning Keyboards and back then I was studying in class 7. They were dead against me doing music or picking up music as a career. But, I just love the magic of the art and wanted to pursue it, that’s it. So, years passed by I developed my skills, started playing in a band “Massiha”. Massiha is an 11 year old band now formed in 2010 and I was really lucky that I got a chance to play with such senior musicians. I was excited that I would get to learn a lot from them. So started that too, along with some freshly added family non-support!!
Anyways, I still play in the band and presently working on a Film, composing all the songs of the film as well as the background scores. So, from there to here, IT IS POSSIBLE.
So after all these struggles and stuff I still stood, and my message to all the fellow readers, and all the budding musicians is that, “NEVER LOSE HOPE, NEVER GIVE UP” because if you don’t fail, you’ll never learn. Failing is just another term for Learning.
So keep trying, make good music and enjoy the essence of this wonderful form of art called MUSIC.
Music is just a language that speaks through instruments and sounds. So feel this essence and keep playing hard, keep supporting local artists.
And to all my senior readers, please let your children grow in music if they really want to, because only one thing can keep them happy in life, and that is MUSIC. Don’t let a budding flower fade away just due to societal issues or in Hindi what we call “Log kya kahenge”.
Thank You
