Although there is much controversy on Shakti Peeth yet the flow of the divinity continues without suffering any mortal interruption. According to Tantrism, the Goddess’s palm fell on Pushkar, Rajasthan. Gaitri and Sarbananda are worshipped here by the loyal devotees.In Avantika, the upper lip of the Goddess is adored and the place has been recognised as a famed Shaktipeeth. Mahadevi and Nomro Karna are believed to reside here. Both are the manifestations Of Shiva and Shakti.
Coming to Ujjaini, one can easily discover the worship of Sati’s elbow. This really reminds us of Kalidas’ ‘Meghdoot’. Devi is known as Mangalchandika and Shiva as Kapilambar.

It is interesting to note that Varanani, a holy place of Hindus is showered with her blessings. The place where Devi’s earings fell is known as Manikarnika. The Goddess Vishalakshi and Kal are worshipped here. On the other hand, the back of the Goddess fell on Kanyashram. Devi Samani and Dev Nimish are found to be with the devotees all the time!

A little faraway, in Nepal Devi’s neck fell and the place is known as Tirtha Gandoki. The Goddess Gondoki Chandi and Nopani are worshipped with delight.

In Pashupatinath the knee of the Goddess fell. She is known as Mahamaya and Her spouse is Kapali.
The religious spot Puri withessed the fell of Sati’s navel. Devi Bimala and Bhairav Jagganath are worshipped here.
Orissa, famed for the Kalmadhav Temple is a noted Shaktipeeth. Devi’s buttocks fell here. The Goddess Mahakali and the God Ashitanga are worshipped day and night to get their blessings.

Devi Bhramari and Bhairab Iswar reside in Trisrota in West Bengal. Her leg fell here. The devotees intensely believe it. Moreover, Devi Kalika and Bhairav Jogin are worshipped in Birbhum’s Nalhati. The lower part of Her elbow fell here.
The places like Narmada, Sriporbat, Jonosthan, Ratnavali, the coast of Godavari and Mithila are quite famous even today as Shaktipeeths. Ranging from the buttocks to the chin to the right shoulder to the left shoulder and many more are worshipped here. The Goddess is named as Narmada, Sri Sundari, Bhramari, Bisweshi and Uma. While Her spouse is known in various names viz Bhadrasen, Sundarananda, Biktritakaksha, Kumar, Dandapani and Mahadeva.
