A wet evening,
Preened by the occasional flashes,
Dazzled the eyes,
Water dropped from –
The edges of leaves,
Gradually,
In a tune of solemnity!
A winter milieu,
Hemmed in the ambient air!
Amid the beloved graced the occasion,
Shared the nuances of tepid affair –
A tiny hamlet,
A bewildering crisscross of moving shadows and lights
Spawned an enigma!
Love sowed its seed,
She took his arms,
Reduced the thousand miles,
Rested on her sleek waist,
Refined love!
The sheen locks,
Fell like a cascade,
Born a musical crescendo,
Enhanced her elegance!
Yet –
Love doesn’t know any reason,
A sudden sally,
Cruelty took its root,
in the lover’s soul!
One after the another lock,
throttled her!
No voice of protest,
No signature of suffering,
No symbol of anguish!
Smile surrounded her lips,
like the crescent moon,
in the cerulean blue sky,
Her only possession of the hour!
The beloved voyaged –
into the cauldron of death,
Yet –
No grain of repentance on his visage!
The God gifted her,
The path of freedom!
A sense of despair,
A sense of dejection,
Engulfed his heart,
The storm stopped outside,
The sky looked radiant ,
The tale of taciturnity,
Witnessed by the Lord above –
But
Silently,
Sombrely!!
