The amorphous destiny is given a proper shape by the Lord himself. But this destiny or fate or luck, whatever we propose to call is much influenced by our names. In other words there is close bonding between your name and your destiny!
According to Manusanghita, the new born should not be named after any aspect of nature like hills, mountains, valleys rivers, seas, oceans, sky, trees and many more. The reason is obvious. People are not content with their life style. Obstacles and obscurities form an integral part of their life. Moreover, the names of Gods and Goddesses ought to be consider before executing this auspicious process of naming a child. Say for instance, a girl’s name is Laxmi. And out of ignorance or compulsion, she commits a mistake and thrash becomes an obvious factor. People around her use abusive language against her. This is something which hits the Goddess directly and thereby bringing ill luck and misery to her life. At times people pray to God for a child and promises to keep his or her name after Him/Her. Indeed the risk is being taken here! If the promise breaks, the life of that innocent individual may be transformed into hell. Problems, distractions, ailments, failures and many more will never quit unless the day of atonement arrives! It is worth mentioning Swami Abhedananda was born after his mother’s prayer was answered by the Goddess Kali of Kalighat, the much famed ‘Shakti Peeth’. Hence his original name was Kali prasad. After moving into the world of spirituality and divinity, he was named Abhedananda. A well known saint of the “Ramakrishna – Vivekananda Religious Movement”.
Names are as important as our existence. Names which can be heard and fathomed easily are destined to live a stable life, despite all odds. The reverse must be shunned as far as practically possible! Numerology, the ninth part of astrology is a deciding factor! After all it is your name which decides the ‘end of the day’! Any view?
