As the name of the movie suggests “Chupchaap” or “Quietly”, in the poem recited by the protagonist during beginning of the short film, it reflected that silence is the resort which she took earlier as well to compromise, to not let her family suffer, her aspirations to become a poet and writer has been suppressed as women’s desire is not considered significant, nor is their career as father of Runjhun suggests that she must cancel tuition. Silence has taken such a toll over Runjhun’s mother she couldn’t even express that she wasn’t feeling well to go out. The last part is the hard-hitting reality of so many middle-class families, they remain silent for the fear of losing dignity. Rape is considered more of a woman’s fault in an era where we have seen # metoo movement we have also witnessed people defaming the girls raising their voice against a famous and known personalities, As the last line said there’s no more tears, protagonist became a corpse in disbelief and disgust, she realized she has been part of the Quite patriarchy ever since as it is embedded in every tiny reality of the binary gender paradigm. We also see how the man is worried for his daughter but he irresponsibly asks his sick wife to go out and look for them only at a dreadful hour. The normal life of a middle-class family also gets shaken chupchaap(silently). The actors presented a very genuine performance on their part
