My entire city has decked up like a bride.
The flamboyant lights speak of the onset of a carnival.
It’s about to arrive,
about to grace my city with jouissance.
Children run about with an unabashed furore,
ready to jump in joy sporting their new dresses ,
giggling their hearts out slurping onto orange candy bars.
Women crowd the markets bargaining over oxidized jewelleries with the hockers in unison.
Happiness runs unbridled in the azure sky.
Far away in the field the Kansphul indolently sways its head
precursing the fiesta’s aroma.

ready to submerge all woes into its gamut of vibrance.
