I would have loved to say
Had there not been
A larger than life politics of the own
The own people
The people from home land
Home country
Own country
The country
Of birth
One’s motherland
That means many things
So many things
But why this girl from the country
The immigrant girl from the country
Needs boy scouts
Following her
In every important expedition?
Outside her lover’s window
Which by the way
Allows him to take revenge on her
Later
He knew of her coming letter
Before she did
The letter she had been waiting for
Like people wait for sunrise
And she had to take
Her cues from him
Without questioning
Without hesitations
Without delay
With a speed
That determined
Life and death
And she did not
Simply resisted
Simple feminism
And lost it all
The entire game
This entire opportunity.
